¡Viva la Revolución!

Fidel’s persistent, slippery resistance to the United States, and his undying commitment to the ideals of the revolution proved that it is indeed possible to confront the hegemonic powers that be. In fact, his legacy is praised by oppressed societies across the world for exactly that reason: he challenged the US, and remains a global symbol of opposition to colonialism, Western domination, and exploitation.

On Thursday, June 23, 2016, the United Kingdom held a referendum which will have monumental significance to future generations. While it is of course commendable that the U.K. left such an important decision solely in the hands of its people, the “Brexit,” as it has been so wittily dubbed, will be and already has been disastrous for the U.K.

Why Brazil Needs a Political Waxing

Brazil is hosting the Olympics in the summer of 2016. When the world turns its eyes to Brazil, will they see a developing nation on the verge of becoming the next economic powerhouse, or the dilapidated nation weakened by a corruption culture and faulty political system?
